Olive Tapenade
Olive tapenade je provençalská pasta pocházející z jižní Francie, vyrobená z rozmixovaných oliv, kaparů, ančoviček, olivového oleje a bylinek. Název pochází z provençalského slova pro kapary, tapenas. Má výraznou, slanou a umami chuť s jemnou hořkostí z oliv.
Olives
Olives are the fruit of the European olive tree, cultivated primarily in Mediterranean countries. They are among the oldest cultivated crops in human history. Fresh olives are extremely bitter due to their oleuropein content, so they are cured in brine or fermented before consumption. There are green (unripe) and black (ripe) olives, which differ in flavour and texture. In the kitchen, they are used as an ingredient in salads, on pizza, in pasta dishes, tapas, tapenade, or simply as a starter. They are rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and antioxidants.
Olives with Chilli
Olives with chilli are a popular Mediterranean snack that combines the mildly salty taste of olives with the spicy kick of chilli peppers. Most commonly, green or black olives are prepared by marinating je with pieces of hot peppers, garlic, herbs and olive oil. The resulting flavour is bold, aromatic and slightly hot. This snack works great as part of tapas, antipasti or a cheese board. Pairs wonderfully with fresh bread, grilled meats and vegetable salads. Also a popular ingredient in starters, pizza or pasta dishes, adding a spicy touch to any meal.
Olomouc cheese (tvarůžky)
Olomouc cheese, known in Czech as tvarůžky, is a traditional Moravian ripened cheese with a bold, pungent flavour and a distinctive strong aroma. It is made from skimmed curd and ranks among the oldest Czech dairy products, holding a protected geographical indication. The cheese is shaped into small cylinders or flat discs, with a brownish to reddish surface. In the kitchen it is used on cold platters, open sandwiches, or in baked dishes where it melts into a creamy consistency. It also works well in sauces or as part of traditional Moravian cuisine. Despite its strong smell, it is a beloved treat among lovers of aged cheeses.
Onion
Onion is one of the most widely used vegetables in the world, belonging to the amaryllis family and cultivated for thousands of years. It has a characteristic pungent flavour and strong aroma that mellows with cooking, developing a sweet and rich taste. In the kitchen, onions are absolutely essential, they serve as the base for sauces, soups, stews, and salads. They can be fried, caramelised, roasted, or eaten raw. Rich in vitamin C, B6, and various antioxidants, onions are a cornerstone of cuisines around the globe, from European to Asian and Latin American.
Onion Powder
Onion powder is made by drying and grinding onions into a fine powder. It has an intense, concentrated onion flavour and dissolves easily into dishes. It is commonly used as a substitute for fresh or dried onion in recipes where you do not want visible pieces of vegetable, for example in sauces, soups, marinades, spice blends, or dry rubs for meat. It is a popular ingredient in various grilling and barbecue seasoning mixes. Roughly one teaspoon of powder equals one medium-sized onion. It keeps well when stored in a cool, dry, and dark place.
Onion Salt
Onion salt is a seasoning blend made by combining dried onion or onion powder with table salt. This combination offers a convenient way to add both bold onion flavour and saltiness to dishes at the same time. It is widely used for seasoning meat before grilling or roasting, and is a popular addition to marinades, salad dressings, soups, and sauces. It is a staple in American cuisine, frequently used when preparing burgers, steaks, and poultry. It should be used with care to avoid over-salting dishes. Best stored in a cool, dry, and dark place.
Orange
The orange is a citrus fruit originating from Southeast Asia, today grown mainly in the Mediterranean region, Brazil, and the United States. It is known for its juicy, sweet-tart flesh and distinctive aroma. In the kitchen, it is used fresh, sliced into fruit salads, served as a dessert ingredient, or as a side. Orange juice is popular as a drink and as a component of sauces, marinades, and dressings. The zest provides an intense citrus aroma and is widely used in baking, chocolate-making, and liqueur production. Oranges are a rich source of vitamin C, dietary fiber, and antioxidants that support the immune system.
Orange Bell Pepper
Orange bell pepper is the fruit of Capsicum annuum, distinguished by its vivid orange colour and pleasantly sweet, fruity flavour. Compared to green pepper it is noticeably sweeter and less bitter, while its aroma is more delicate than that of red pepper. It contains high amounts of vitamin C, beta-carotene and antioxidants. In the kitchen it is highly versatile, it works raw in salads, on the grill, in stir-fries, braised or stuffed as a standalone dish. Its colour also makes it an attractive plate garnish. It pairs well with mozzarella, basil, chicken and seafood.
Orange Compote
Orange compote is a preserved dessert made from orange slices or wedges simmered in a sugar syrup. The natural freshness and slightly bitter zest of oranges give the syrup a distinctive citrus aroma. It is used as a refreshing dessert, a side dish for pancakes or dumplings, a filling for cakes, or a base for fruit sauces and dressings. The combination of sweet syrup and citrus acidity makes it a popular ingredient in summer sundaes or as a topping for ice cream. It can be flavoured with cloves, cinnamon or vanilla for a more intense flavour profile.
Orange Juice
Oranžový džus je průmyslově vyráběný nápoj z pomerančů, dostupný v několika variantách, 100% džus, džus z koncentrátu a nektary s přidanou vodou a cukrem.
Orange Juice (Fresh)
Freshly squeezed orange juice retains the full spectrum of flavours and nutrients found in the fruit. Unlike industrially produced juice, it undergoes no heat treatment or concentration, making it more flavourful and nutritionally superior. It is rich in vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. In the kitchen, it can be used as a base for cocktails, fruit salads, dressings, and sauces. Fresh juice is also a popular ingredient in marinades for poultry and fish. It is best consumed immediately after squeezing to preserve maximum vitamins and its fresh, vibrant taste.
