Melta je tradiční česká a slovenská kávová alternativa vyrobená z pražených obilnin, čekanky a sladového extraktu. Neobsahuje kofein, což ji činí vhodnou pro děti, těhotné ženy a osoby citlivé na kofein. Má tmavě hnědou barvu a výraznou, mírně sladkou chuť s nádechem pražených cereálií. Připravuje se přidáním horké vody nebo mléka, podobně jako instantní káva. Po generace byla používána v domácnostech jako každodenní nápoj. V současnosti zažívá melta oživení jako zdravá alternativa kávy. Může být také využita při pečení, dodává tmavou barvu a karamelovou vůni.
