Milk

Mléko

Milk is a fundamental food of animal origin used in the kitchen on a daily basis. It is a source of calcium, protein, vitamins D and B12, and other nutrients. In recipes, it is used in batters for pancakes and bread, in sauces such as béchamel, in desserts, puddings, and porridges. Coffee, hot chocolate, and tea with milk would not be the same without it. It is available in various fat content variants, whole, semi-skimmed, and skimmed. In modern cooking, it is increasingly replaced by plant-based alternatives, yet it remains one of the most widely used ingredients in the world.
