Parisian Salad with Ham and Peas
Ingredients
Step by step process
Prep the ingredients
- 1
For this deli salad, first hard-boil the eggs. Put them into boiling water and cook for 10 minutes, then cool them in cold water and peel.
- 2
Dice the cooled eggs into small cubes. Chop the cooked ham and pickled cucumber just as finely.
Mix the salad
- 3
Drain the canned peas and corn well and let them dry off so the dressing does not turn watery.
- 4
In a bowl, stir the mayonnaise with the mustard into a smooth dressing. Fold in the chopped ham, eggs and cucumber, then add the peas and corn and mix everything gently so the kernels stay whole.
- 5
Season with salt and pepper and adjust to taste with a little more mustard or a spoonful of pickle brine.
Serving
- 6
Cover the bowl and let it rest in the fridge for at least an hour so the flavors come together. Serve with a fresh baguette or bread.
More tips:
Make the salad a day ahead and let it rest in the fridge overnight.
Drain the peas and corn thoroughly before mixing, or the dressing will turn watery.
