Sparkling Water
Sparkling water is water containing dissolved carbon dioxide, which gives it characteristic bubbles. It can be natural (mineral spring water with naturally occurring carbonation) or artificially carbonated (table sparkling water). Unlike soda water, which is a purely artificial product used primarily in bartending, sparkling water includes naturally mineralised varieties. In cooking, it is used as a refreshing drink, a base for lemonades and spritzes, and as an ingredient in batters where the bubbles add lightness. It is served chilled with meals as an alternative to still water.
