Aperol Spritz is an iconic Italian aperitif with a lightly bittersweet taste and a fresh citrus aroma. The combination of Aperol, prosecco, and sparkling water is ideal for summer gatherings and festive toasts alike. It tastes best well chilled and served with a slice of orange.

Step by step process

Preparation

  1. 1

Wash the orange, cut it into four thin slices, and prepare four glasses.

  2. 2

Divide the ice among the glasses so that each is about two-thirds full.

  3. 3

Pour in the Aperol, prosecco, and finally top up with sparkling water so the typical layering is preserved.

  4. 4

Stir the drink very gently, garnish with a slice of orange, and serve immediately, well chilled.

More tips:

For an authentic taste, keep the ratio of 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts Aperol, and 1 part sparkling water.

Add the sparkling water last and stir only briefly so the cocktail keeps its freshness and bubbles.
