Tequila Sunrise with Orange and Grenadine
Ingredients
Step by step process
Preparation
- 1
Slice the orange into thin slices for garnish and prepare 4 tall glasses.
- 2
Fill the glasses with ice to about two-thirds full.
Mixing
- 3
Measure 50 ml of blanco tequila into each glass and pour it over the ice.
- 4
Top up with about 150 ml of orange juice. Leave a small gap at the rim of the glass.
- 5
Pour the grenadine very slowly down the inside of the glass or over the back of a spoon. It will sink to the bottom and create the layered sunrise effect. Do not stir.
Serving
- 6
Garnish the rim of each glass with an orange slice and serve immediately. The ice will keep the drink nicely chilled.
More tips:
For a more pronounced sunrise effect, pour the grenadine very slowly down the inside of the glass or over the back of a spoon.
Use 100% orange juice without pulp. Juice with pulp will mix the color layers faster, and the effect won’t be as clean.
