Red palm oil

Red palm oil is an unrefined oil obtained from the fleshy fruit of the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis). Unlike the refined version, it retains its natural deep orange-red color, distinctive aroma, and high content of beta-carotene and vitamin E. It is a traditional staple of West African and Brazilian cuisines, where it is added to soups, stews, and rice dishes. It has a higher smoke point than many common oils and, when heated, gives dishes a characteristic color and a mildly nutty flavor.
