Ground Caraway

Mletý kmín-01

Ground caraway is the finely milled form of caraway seeds (Carum carvi) and a traditional spice widely used in Central European and Scandinavian cuisines. It has a warm, aromatic, and slightly anise-like flavour with earthy undertones. It is a key seasoning in Czech and German bread, rye loaves, sauerkraut, pork and beef dishes, and potato soups. Just a pinch adds characteristic depth to goulash, dumplings, and cabbage dishes. Ground caraway releases flavour faster than whole seeds and is easier to incorporate into batters and sauces. It is also an ingredient in caraway schnapps (kümmel). Store in a sealed container away from heat and light.
