Savory Lassi with Salt and Cumin

Preparation

Chill glasses in the refrigerator and measure the yogurt and cold water into a bowl or pitcher.

Prepare the salt and ground cumin. Keep ice in the freezer until serving.
Blending

Place the yogurt, water, salt, and ground cumin in a blender.

Blend for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slightly frothy. Adjust salt or add more water to taste.
TIP:Add the water in small amounts and blend with short pulses until the mixture comes together into a smooth, lightly foamed emulsion. If lumps appear, stop briefly and stir.
Serving

Place a few ice cubes (optional) into each glass and pour the lassi.

Serve immediately, well chilled. Optionally, lightly sprinkle a pinch of ground cumin on top.
More tips:
If you have whole cumin seeds, briefly dry-roast and grind them. The lassi will have a more pronounced nutty aroma.
For a thicker version, use Greek yogurt and dilute with less water. For a lighter version, increase the amount of water.
