Classic Margarita with Salted Rim
Ingredients
Step by step process
Preparation
- 1
Squeeze fresh lime juice using a citrus press. Measure out tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice to ensure the perfect flavor balance in your classic margarita.
- 2
Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass to help the salt stick. Firmly press the glass into a dish of fine sea salt to create an even salted rim. Keep the salt only on the outside, never inside the glass.
Shaking
- 3
Fill a shaker halfway with ice, add the measured tequila, orange liqueur, and fresh lime juice. Secure the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for about 12-15 seconds, until the shaker is frosted and the ingredients are well chilled.
- 4
Strain the finished cocktail through a fine strainer directly into the prepared salt-rimmed glasses. Make sure no ice or pulp remains so your margarita is clear, smooth, and refreshing.
Serving
- 5
Garnish the glass with a fresh lime wedge on the rim. Serve the margarita immediately while well chilled to enjoy its purest and most refreshing taste.
More tips:
Use 100% agave tequila (preferably blanco) for the cleanest taste without strong oak notes.
Keep the salt only on the outside of the glass rim. Fine sea salt creates a smooth, subtly salty edge.
