Peanut butter banana nice cream is a creamy ice cream made from frozen bananas blended with peanut butter. Step by step process

Freezing the bananas

    Peanut butter banana nice cream starts with well ripened bananas. Peel them and cut them into slices about 2 cm thick.

    Spread the slices on a plate or a tray lined with baking paper so they do not touch, and place them in the freezer for at least 3 hours, ideally overnight.

Blending and serving

    Tip the frozen slices into a strong blender and pulse briefly. The bananas first form crumbs, so scrape them off the sides a few times.

    Add the peanut butter and keep blending until the mixture comes together into a smooth, creamy state resembling soft serve. This takes 2 to 4 minutes.

    Stir in a pinch of salt, which brings out the nutty flavor. If you like chunks, fold in chopped dark chocolate at the end.

Freeze the bananas only once they have brown spots on the skin. The sweeter, softer flesh blends until smooth and replaces added sugar.
