Ingredients
Step by step process
Preparation
- 1
Place one teaspoon of cane sugar and two drops of Angostura Bitters into each glass. Add one teaspoon of water and use a muddler or the back of a spoon to crush the sugar and mix it with the bitters until the sugar is almost dissolved and a slightly syrupy consistency forms (about 20-30 seconds).
- 2
Add several large ice cubes or one large ice cube, pour 60 ml whiskey (bourbon or rye), and stir with a bar spoon for approximately 20-30 seconds until the drink is well chilled and slightly diluted.
Serving
- 3
Before garnishing, twist a piece of fresh orange peel over the glass to release the essential oils, then place the peel into the drink as a garnish.
- 4
Serve immediately with a short stirring straw or stirrer.
More tips:
For the best aroma, twist the orange peel directly over the glass to release the essential oils.
Use quality ice cubes, which melt more slowly and dilute the drink less.
