Homemade Lemonade with Mint
Ingredients
Step by step process
Preparing the base
- 1
Thoroughly wash the lemons with hot water, dry them, and cut them in half. Use a citrus juicer to squeeze the juice from all the lemons into a pitcher.
- 2
Rinse the mint sprigs with cold water, strip the leaves, and gently bruise them in your palm or with a muddler at the bottom of the pitcher to release their aroma.
Mixing the lemonade
- 3
Add granulated sugar to the pitcher with the lemon juice and mint, and stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- 4
Pour in cold water and stir well again. Taste and adjust the balance of sugar and lemon as needed.
- 5
Let the finished lemonade rest in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Serving
- 6
Place a handful of ice into chilled glasses, pour in the prepared lemonade, and garnish with a slice of lemon and a sprig of fresh mint.
More tips:
For a stronger mint flavor, you can make a simple mint syrup: dissolve sugar in a small amount of hot water together with the mint, let it cool, and only then mix it with the lemon juice and cold water.
