Protein Oatmeal

Jakub SýkoraBreakfastBritish Cuisine x se líbilo
This protein porridge is creamy, filling, and ready in minutes thanks to added whey protein. You cook the oats in milk for 5 to 8 minutes until creamy, mix the powder separately with warm milk into a smooth paste, and stir it in off the heat so it does not curdle. You sweeten it with honey, season with cinnamon, and divide it into bowls. You top it with banana, walnuts, and peanut butter and serve it warm, a nourishing breakfast that keeps you going until lunch.

Step by step process

Preparation

  1. 1

Measure the milk and oats for your protein oatmeal. Peel the banana and slice it thinly for later serving.

  2. 2

Add the whey protein to a small bowl and mix thoroughly with 2-3 tablespoons of warm milk until you get a smooth, lump-free paste.

Cooking

  1. 3

Slowly heat the milk in a saucepan until almost boiling. Stir in the oats, reduce the heat slightly, and cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring regularly with a whisk to prevent sticking and ensure a creamy texture.

  2. 4

Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately stir in the prepared powder so it dissolves evenly throughout the porridge. Adjust the thickness with a little milk, if needed.

  3. 5

Sweeten to taste with honey, season with a pinch of cinnamon and salt, as desired.

Serving

  1. 6

Divide the porridge into prepared bowls. Top with banana slices and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.

  2. 7

Add a teaspoon of peanut butter to each portion and serve warm while the porridge is creamy and flavors are at their best.

More tips:

Always stir in protein off the heat. If boiled, it may curdle and clump.

For a lactose-free version, use plant-based milk and protein. Increase the liquids by 50-100 ml.
