Grape Spirit (Vínovice)

Vínovice is a Central European grape spirit distilled from fermented grape must or pomace, the by-products of winemaking. It belongs to the same family as Italian grappa or French marc de raisin. In the Czech Republic and Moravia, it has a long tradition in wine-growing regions. The flavour is typically intense, with pronounced fruity and alcoholic notes, while high-quality examples are smooth and aromatic. It is traditionally served chilled as an after-dinner digestif, but also finds use in the kitchen for flambéing, desserts, or enriching sauces.
