Granadilla

Granadilla

Granadilla is a tropical fruit from the Passifloraceae family, closely related to passion fruit. The fruit has a smooth, firm orange-yellow skin, and inside it contains sweet, fragrant pulp with small black seeds. Its flavour is noticeably sweeter and milder than passion fruit, without the pronounced acidity. It originates mainly from the South American Andes and is now also grown in Africa and Southeast Asia. The fruit is typically eaten fresh, scooped out with a spoon directly from the skin. It is also used in fruit salads, desserts, smoothies and cocktails. Rich in vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants, it is valued for its nutritional properties as well.
