Maple syrup is a natural sweetener made by evaporating the sap of sugar maple trees, mainly in Canada. It has an amber colour and a rich caramel flavour with vanilla notes. Traditionally served with pancakes and waffles, also used in marinades and baking. One litre requires about 40 litres of sap.
