Ingredients
Step by step process
Preparation
- 1
Chill the cream and lightly whisk it in a bowl with a whisk or spoon until slightly thicker but still pourable.
- 2
Prepare 4 lowball (Old Fashioned) glasses and fill them to the rim with ice cubes.
Mixing
- 3
Measure 25 ml coffee liqueur and 50 ml vodka into each glass. Stir briefly with a bar spoon to combine the spirits and chill them.
- 4
Slowly pour the prepared cream over the top of the cocktail, spoonful by spoonful. Pour over the back of a spoon so a velvety layer forms on top of the drink.
TIP:Chill the glass in the refrigerator and use cold cream. Pour it slowly along the back of a bar spoon from a short height, until the cream separates and forms a delicate, velvety layer on the surface.
Serving
- 5
Serve immediately. Offer guests the option to gently stir the cocktail to taste before drinking.
More tips:
For more pronounced layering, pour very cold cream over the back of a spoon. For a lighter version, use cooking cream or whole milk.
Large clear ice cubes melt more slowly and dilute the cocktail less.
