Step by step process

Preparation

  1. 1

Chill copper mugs or highball glasses in the freezer and prepare plenty of ice.

  2. 2

Juice the limes with a citrus press, strain any pulp, and measure 60 ml.

    TIP:

Gently press the lime before juicing it, then extract the juice with a handheld juicer and strain it through a fine sieve to remove the pulp and seeds.

  3. 3

Measure 200 ml of vodka and 600 ml of ginger beer for 4 drinks.

Mixing

  1. 4

Fill each mug or glass with ice cubes almost to the rim so the drink is well chilled.

  2. 5

Divide the vodka evenly, add the lime juice, and top up with ginger beer.

  3. 6

Stir gently in one motion to combine the flavors while preserving the carbonation.

    TIP:

Use a long spoon and, with a single sweeping motion, gently stir to blend the flavors, while keeping the effervescence active for as long as possible, and enjoy the full flavor.

Serving

  1. 7

Garnish with a lime wheel and a few mint leaves. serve immediately well chilled.

  2. 8

Add a few extra drops of lime juice to taste directly into the glass.

More tips:

Use good-quality ginger beer (not ginger ale). A bolder ginger flavor gives the cocktail the right kick.
