Spelt flour

Špaldová mouka

Spelt flour is made from spelt wheat, one of the oldest cereal grains cultivated by humans. Compared to conventional wheat flour, spelt flour contains more protein, fibre, minerals (magnesium, zinc, iron), and B vitamins. This flour has a slightly nutty flavour that gives baked goods an interesting character. It is used to make bread, rolls, cakes, pancakes, pasta, and biscuits. Suitable for people with sensitivity to modern wheat, it is not gluten-free. Thanks to its nutritional value and good baking properties, spelt flour is gaining an increasing number of fans in both home and professional kitchens.
