Punch Essence

Punch essence is a concentrated aromatic ingredient used to flavour confectionery products, desserts and beverages. Its typical flavour evokes punch, a blend of rum, citrus and spices. In the kitchen, it is added to gingerbread, punch slices, cake fillings, tea pastries or Christmas biscuits. Only a small amount is needed, as both the flavour and aroma are very intense. Punch essence contains no alcohol, making it suitable for children as well. It is usually sold in small bottles or ampoules. It is an integral part of Central European confectionery tradition and during the Christmas season it is one of the most commonly used flavourings in home baking.
