Puff Pastry

Listové těsto

Puff pastry is a special type of dough made up of hundreds of thin layers of butter and flour, created by repeatedly folding and rolling the dough. During baking, the layers separate to produce a light, airy, flaky texture. It is used to make both sweet and savoury dishes, including croissants, mille-feuille, vol-au-vent, strudels, sausage rolls, cheese straws and Napoleon slices. Ready-made puff pastry from the shop is very convenient and produces results comparable to homemade. When working with it, keeping it cold is essential to prevent the butter from melting. It is baked at a high temperature, usually around 200 °C.
