Popcorn
Popcorn is a popular snack made by heating kernels of a special variety of maize called popping corn. At high temperatures, the moisture inside the kernel turns into steam, causing it to burst and expand into a white starchy structure. It can be made in a pot, microwave, or a dedicated popcorn maker. It comes in two basic shapes, butterfly and mushroom. It can be flavoured savoury (butter, cheese, caramel) or sweet. Popcorn is a relatively low-calorie snack when prepared without added fat and sugar. It is gluten-free and makes a great quick snack for movies, parties, or as part of creative desserts and snack mixes.
