Pea Pods (Snow Peas / Snap Peas)

Pea pods are whole, immature pea pods harvested while still tender and edible, with the shell included. Unlike regular peas, they are eaten whole without shelling. There are two main varieties, mangetout (flat, very delicate) and sugar snap peas (fuller, crunchy). They have a gentle, sweet flavor and excellent crisp texture. Pea pods are great in stir-fries, soups, salads, or served as a light side dish after quick blanching. They are also delicious eaten raw as part of a vegetable platter with dips. Rich in vitamin C, vitamin K, and dietary fiber, they are a nutritious addition to any meal.
