Granulated Sugar
Granulated sugar is the standard white sugar with larger crystals, making it one of the most widely used types of sugar in the household. It is produced from sugar beet and its clean, sweet flavour makes it suitable for a wide range of uses. It is particularly well suited for sweetening hot drinks, compotes, preserves and syrups, where its larger grains make it easy to measure. In baking it works wherever rapid dissolving is not required. When heated it caramelises easily, forming golden-brown caramel with a distinctive aroma. It is a more affordable alternative to finer caster sugar and can be used almost universally in the kitchen.
