Chapati

chapati
Chapati is a traditional Indian flatbread cooked on a dry skillet (tava) made from whole wheat atta flour, water, and a pinch of salt. It has a soft texture, a mildly nutty flavor, and is thinner than other flatbreads. In India it is served with virtually every meal, used to scoop up dal, curry, or yogurt dips, serving as an edible spoon. It is quick to prepare, requires no leavening, and at home only needs flour, water, and a little heat. Chapati is the foundation of everyday Indian cuisine.
