Crumble topping - crunchy baking essential

Crumble topping (also called streusel) is a mixture of flour, sugar, and butter rubbed into small lumps. It is used as a crunchy topping on pies, cakes, and fruit desserts. The standard ratio is 2 parts flour, 1 part sugar, and 1 part butter. For extra crunch, oats or chopped nuts can be added.
