Wasabi is a pungent green paste from the rhizome of Wasabia japonica. Its sharp heat fades quickly unlike chili. Real wasabi is rare. most products are horseradish and food coloring blends. Traditionally served with sushi and sashimi. Also used in sauces and marinades.
