Schnitzel - German breaded cutlet (Schnitzel)

Schnitzel is one of the most popular dishes. A thin slice of meat is coated in flour, egg and breadcrumbs and pan-fried in plenty of fat until golden and crispy.

The most famous is Wiener Schnitzel made from veal, while the German Schweineschnitzel uses pork. The Jägerschnitzel with mushroom sauce is also popular. It is served with potato salad.
