Köfte - Turkish meatballs

Köfte are Turkish meatballs, the most widespread dish in Turkish cuisine. They are made from minced beef or lamb with onion, garlic, parsley, and spices.

Many varieties exist: İnegöl köfte (just meat and onion), İzmir köfte (braised in tomato sauce), or çiğ köfte (raw, made from bulgur). Grilled köfte are served with rice and salad. Every city has its own speciality.
