Turrón - Spanish Christmas delicacy

Turrón is a traditional Spanish confection with a long history dating back to the Moorish presence on the Iberian Peninsula. It is made from honey, sugar, egg whites, and toasted almonds. The two best-known varieties are hard turrón de Alicante with whole almonds and soft turrón de Jijona with finely ground almonds.
