Tortellini, Italian stuffed pasta

Tortellini are small stuffed pasta with a distinctive ring shape, originating from Bologna and Modena. The traditional filling is a mixture of pork, prosciutto, mortadella, Parmesan, and nutmeg.

According to legend, the shape was inspired by the navel of the goddess Venus. Traditionally, tortellini are served in clear meat broth, especially at Christmas. Handmaking tortellini is an artisan skill passed down through generations.
