Tortas - Mexican sandwiches

Tortas are traditional Mexican sandwiches made from a crusty telera or bolillo roll. They are layered with meat, beans, avocado, tomatoes, onion and chilli peppers.

The most famous is torta ahogada from Guadalajara, a sandwich drowned in spicy sauce, and torta cubana with several types of meat. Tortas are sold on every corner of Mexican cities.
