Tiramisu, Italian coffee dessert

Tiramisu is one of the most famous Italian desserts, its name meaning pick me up. Savoiardi ladyfingers are dipped in strong espresso and layered with a cream of mascarpone, egg yolks, and sugar.

The origin is disputed between Veneto and Friuli, most often attributed to the restaurant Le Beccherie in Treviso in the 1960s. The authentic recipe contains no alcohol. The key is quality mascarpone and strong espresso.
