Tikka Masala, chicken in sauce

Tikka masala is one of the most popular Indian dishes, although its exact origin is a matter of debate. Pieces of chicken (tikka) are grilled and then served in a rich tomato sauce with cream and spices.

The sauce combines tomatoes, cream, yoghurt, garlic, ginger and garam masala. According to legend the dish was created in Glasgow. Tikka masala is served with basmati rice or naan bread.
