Tapas - Spanish small plate culture

Tapas are not just food but an entire social ritual of Spanish gastronomy. They are small portions of a wide variety of dishes served in bars alongside wine or beer.

The selection is diverse, from simple olives, cheeses, and ham to croquetas, patatas bravas, or gambas al ajillo. In Spain it is customary to tapear, move from bar to bar, sampling different tapas at each one. In some regions, tapas come free with a drink.
