Sunflower - source of healthy seeds and oil

Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is an annual plant native to North America, cultivated for its nutritious seeds. Sunflower seeds are rich in vitamin E, selenium, and unsaturated fatty acids. They are eaten roasted, added to salads, bread, and muesli. Sunflower oil, one of the most widespread cooking oils in the world, is pressed from the seeds. The oil has a high smoke point and is suitable for frying as well as cold dishes.
