Prosciutto is an Italian ham from the hind leg of pork. There are two main types: prosciutto crudo (raw dry-cured ham) and prosciutto cotto (cooked ham). The most famous are Prosciutto di Parma and di San Daniele. It is served sliced paper-thin as antipasto, with melon, or on pizza.
