Potato Pancakes - crispy Slovak potato fritters

Potato pancakes are among the most beloved dishes of Central European cuisine, cherished in both Polish and Slovak traditions. They are made from grated raw potatoes mixed with egg, flour, garlic, and marjoram.

In Poland they are known as placki ziemniaczane and in Slovakia as zemiakové placky. Fried until golden and crispy, they are served with sour cream or as a side to hearty meat dishes.
