Parenica is a traditional Slovak steamed cheese made from sheep's or cow's milk. Characterised by its rolled strip shape resembling a coiled string. Produced by steaming curd in hot water. Has a delicate, slightly salty taste and springy texture. Available in unsmoked and smoked variants.
