Outlaw Roast - campfire-cooked Slovak feast

Outlaw roast is a traditional Slovak dish named after the živáne, Slovak bandits who prepared their food over a fire in the forest. Meat, potatoes, bacon and sausages are wrapped in foil and roasted together over an open fire.

All the ingredients meld together and the meat absorbs a smoky flavour from the flames. It is served straight from the fire on a board with fresh bread and mustard.
