Lokše - Slovak potato flatbreads
Lokše are traditional thin Slovak flatbreads made from potato dough. They are prepared from boiled potatoes mixed with flour and salt, rolled out very thin and baked dry on a hot pan or griddle.
Lokše are incredibly versatile. They are served sweet, filled with jam, poppy seeds or nuts, or savoury as a side to St. Martin's goose or other roast meat. In Slovakia, they are an inseparable part of St. Martin's Day feasts and Christmas celebrations.
