Khao Pad - Thai Fried Rice
Khao Pad is a Thai fried rice and one of the most fundamental dishes in Thai cuisine. Cold cooked rice is stir-fried over high heat in a wok with egg, garlic, onion and vegetables. It is seasoned with fish sauce, soy sauce and white pepper.
There are many variations - with chicken, prawns, crab, pork or tofu. It is served with cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes and a wedge of lime. Khao Pad is a quick, fuss-free meal that Thais enjoy at any time of day.
