Jiaozi, Chinese Filled Dumplings

Jiaozi are traditional Chinese dumplings with a history spanning over 1800 years. Thin dough is filled with a mixture of minced pork, Chinese cabbage, ginger, and spring onions. The dumplings are shaped into the classic crescent form.

There are three basic methods of preparation, boiled, steamed, and pan-fried (guō tiē, known as potstickers). Jiaozi are an essential part of Chinese New Year celebrations, where they symbolize wealth.
