Guacamole - Mexican avocado dip

Guacamole is one of the most famous Mexican dips. It is prepared from mashed ripe avocado with lime juice, onion, tomatoes, coriander and chilli peppers.

The name comes from Nahuatl and combines the words ahuacatl (avocado) and molli (sauce). The Aztecs were already making it in the 16th century. It is served with tortilla chips or alongside tacos and burritos.
