Golabki - Polish Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Golabki (literally meaning little pigeons) are among the most popular home-cooked dishes in Poland. They consist of cabbage leaves stuffed with a mixture of ground meat (usually pork and beef), rice and onion.

The wrapped rolls are placed in a baking dish and slowly braised in tomato sauce until tender. Vegetarian versions with buckwheat or mushrooms are also popular. Golabki are a typical Sunday family meal in Poland.
