Gai Yang - Thai Grilled Chicken

Gai Yang is a traditional Thai grilled chicken from the Isan region of northeastern Thailand. The chicken is marinated in garlic, coriander roots, white pepper, fish sauce and palm sugar for several hours.

It is traditionally grilled over charcoal, giving the meat a smoky flavour. It is served with sticky rice (khao niao) and spicy nam jim jaew dipping sauce. Gai Yang is one of the most beloved street foods at Thai markets.
