Currywurst - Berlin street food
Currywurst is the most famous street food in Berlin. The sausage is cut into slices, drenched in spicy tomato sauce with curry seasoning and dusted with extra curry powder. It is served with french fries.
It was invented by Herta Heuwer in 1949 in Berlin. Berlin even has a Currywurst Museum. Over 800 million servings are consumed in Germany every year.
