Chicken Tikka Masala - Britain's national curry

Chicken Tikka Masala is the dish that has become Britain's unofficial national dish. Chicken pieces are marinated in yoghurt with spices, roasted in a tandoor or oven, and served in a rich creamy tomato sauce flavoured with garam masala, turmeric, and coriander. The dish's origin is disputed: it is most commonly said to have been created in Glasgow in the 1970s, when a chef added tomato sauce to dry chicken tikka at a customer's request.
